Playful, whimsical colors and shapes have always attracted my eye, no matter the medium. I remember visiting the Watts towers by Simon Rodia and being inspired. The artist was self taught and incorporated found objects from shells to broken glass and the like. His various skills and loves were combined into unique expressions. He had no engineering background, yet the towers stand tall.
I have lived at the beach since 2014 with my husband Ron. The beach has been an inspiration for me. Loving gardening, I have used my yard as a canvas. Not just plants, but also incorporating colors, shapes and various items from nature and my creations.
Smooth rocks found on my regular walks on the beach become opportunities for expression using beads, tile, stone, glass, rocks, pottery pieces, and the like. Each piece is different, from the colors of the various materials used for the mosaics to the custom grout colors.
My two adorable pups are good companions and are both rescued dogs. 100% of my ArtWalk sales will be donated to C.A.R.L., the Canine Adoption and Rescue League located nearby in Ventura.
