Don Fay graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts; completed his formal education at the Art Center College of Design and later studied extensively with Robert E. Wood and Sergei Bongart.
He now devotes himself to painting and teaching, after a successful career as an illustrator, designer and art director. He is an award-winning artist, both in commercial and fine art, and exhibits extensively. Don has many one-man shows and murals to his credit and his paintings are in important corporate and private collections in this country and abroad. He is a member of the National Watercolor Society, California Art Club, Buenaventura Art Association with Lifetime Achievement Award, and past vice president of both the Oxnard and the Gold Coast Watercolor Society. The Gold Coast Watercolor Society has awarded him the honorary title of Master Mentor, related to his watercolor teaching efforts. For many years he taught weeklong seminars at Yosemite National Park and for many years taught a similar seminar in the Kings Canyon-Sequoia National Park area.
Notables in his gallery representation have been the Stary-Sheets Gallery in Laguna Beach (California), the Fireside Gallery in Carmel (California) and the Gallery of the Pines in Mammoth Lakes (California), Coriell Gallery in Albuquerque (New Mexico) and the Buenaventura Art Association Gallery in Ventura (California). Don’s mural and commercial art is represented by Professional Art Services in Mission Viejo (California). His studio has become his most important gallery. Please visit.
